All aboard! If it’s got soul, a driving rhythm and makes you get up and shake your thing, you’ll find it here on the soul funk tour bus. A fat dollop of funk, a big scoop of disco, a dash of house
|
| and all with the lifeblood of Soul coursing through it. It started with a Sam Cooke cassette. You won’t need no ticket. Music to dance to and music to love to. Music imbued with the flavour of Marvin, a nod to Joe Guitar Watson and a doff of the cap to new R&B. Jump on the bus. Hear tunes with a serious message like ‘Last night a DJ saved my life’ and immensely serious grooves like ‘Message to a soul sister.’ Hold tight. Next stop Smooth City, where Minnie Ripperton is smoldering on stage singing ‘Every time he comes around.’ Stop by Soul Funk Central and get down and shake it like there’s no tomorrow. If you’re tired, the Mary Jane Girls are waiting for you up on the roof. Tour terminates on the eternal dance floor.
