Welcome to the latest installment of the Slow Jams series. We have come a long way since volume 1 but the sound is still the same slow, deep and rare. We open with Michael Wycoff’s instrumental
“Looking Up To You” that incidentally just got a reissue on 12″. The next track worth a shout is the stunning bootleg - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” on the “Lord Of Lords” rhythm. There ain’t anything budget about French production duo Bost & Bim who are behind this latest mashup. Everything out on their “Bombist” label is of serious quality and most of which also feature Bost on sax and Bim on guitar although I believe that they also play many other instruments. Check them out on www.bostandbim.com. The deep house number, “Bring The Beat Back”, is the hanywork of long time New York impresario Mr V. I first heard this phat little number at one of the many homo sound systems at Burning Man this summer. I got the name of the tune from the DJ who somehow managed to write it down for me during a white-out sandstorm while totally shit faced in charge of the dance floor……amazing really (multi-tasking in it’s truest form). The next tune worthy of a mention is “United Africa”, by Johnny Skaar. This tune is the priciest record I have ever bought…….one of those internet auction frenzies where you end up thinking fuck it…life without that record just isn’t worth living. I won’t disclose the amount paid because I am skint at the mo and frankly it was a fucking stupid buy…however I love it and no other fucker has got that tune.

Check out S.I.A - “Little Man”. This cut is the B side of the UK garage sound system hit that was rinsed throughout London in 2001…killer.
