| over a decade, across the UK as well as in countries such as South Africa, Germany, Croatia and Mozambique. He still admits he’s not very clued up on the whole genre defining aspect of what he does and is simply a sucker for a great record, whatever side of the musical spectrum it comes from. Ben also represents the independent Cape Town label African Dope Records as a DJ and is one of the founder members of the Mix n Blend, one of South Africa’s premier DJ/Producer teams.
Here is what Ben has to say about this show: Some of my favourite contemporary soul artists feature on this one. The likes of Alice Russell, Raphael Saadiq, Joe Dukie, Amp Fiddler and Joy Denalane have been flying the flag for underground soul music for a while now and if you’ve ever seen them live you will know how they put their more mainstream counterparts to shame……… real soul from real artists! |
