| London, Alex runs various nights with a collective of friends who are responsible for putting on great parties including ‘Dirtbox’, ‘Dick and Fanny’ and ‘Kimono Krush’ in the East End and Vauxhall playing a fine selection of music each and every time.
They have a night coming up in March if you are out and about… Princess Michael of Cunt, GiBsOn and The Duchess of Pork invite you to another night of hot, dirty basement action to get your juices flowing with a steaming concoction of Hi-NRG, italo disco, Belgium New Beat, electro, hip house, new wave and synth pop from past decade and the best music of today. A guy’s crisco disco bath house scenario, Dirtbox has been moistening treasure trails, moustaches, backs and cracks since summer 2009 at Dalston’s favourite sweat pitch Vogue Fabrics. Filling the guest slot in March will be DJ Gideon of NYC Downlow, downlowradio.com and Deep Inside fame. Lifetime devotee DJ Gideon has been amassing vinyl with the dedication of an OCD autistic child since 1988. Black music of all flavours spanning from vintage gospel, funk, soul, disco, rare groove and deep/acid house underpin his collection with a spectral emphasis on the blues. Co-founder and lynch pin of the NYC Downlow (the worlds first touring / time travelling vintage homo-disco), he is also the musical curator and driving force behind www.thedownlowradio.com, an underground internet homo radio station linking alternative gay black music DJs and sound systems from across the globe.
