Welcome back to my roots show. This show kicks off with a Marvin Gaye bootleg on the UK Bangers & Mash label. The “Waiting in Vain” rhythm has been used umpteen times over the years but this one
|
| kinda works. Next up is one of Luci’s rarer numbers - “Must Raggamuffin”. A killer digital tune that sounds great on even a set of mini i-pod speakers. Later on in the show we feature the “Stop That Train” rhythm. There are 3 cut on worth checking out…Shaggy, Morgan Heritage and the US white bootleg “How You Wannit”. Morgan Heritage despite their uber straight zero tolerence brand of Christianity consistently come up with some serious killer tunes. Since their debut in 1994 there have been many 7″ capable of creating mayhem on the dancefloor, the best of which has gotta be, “Things Are Getting Outta Hand” on “I Love King Selassi” rhythym. Morgan Heritage are the 5 children of reggae legend Derrick Morgan. The rest of the Morgan children who are not in the Heritage are in a band called LMS. For the best of LMS check out the”Heavenly Child” 7″ on the “Gunz In The Ghetto” rhythm. |
